ISSUES AND SOLUTIONS IN ACTIVE DIRECTORY MIGRATION

Issue: Not able to add a machine to domain.
Error: The domain controller could not be contacted.
Solution:
1.Check whether you have configured the address of the domain controller in the Preferred DNS server column of LAN properties.
2.Check whether you have entered the Fully Qualified Domain Name in the domain column of the computer properties.
3.Check the connectivity of the LAN cable.

Error: The RPC server is not available.
Solution:
1.Check If there is any Internal or external firewall present in the network.
2.If the windows firewall is enabled, disable it.
3.Check whether the 135 port is opened from client to the server (goto command prompt---type telnet 192.77.1.43 135.
4.The command prompt will show a blank screen if the port is open.
Note: 192.77.1.43 is the address of the Domain controller.

Issue: Users cannot login to the domain.
Error: The Domain controller for the domain is unavailable or not responding.
Solution:
1.Check whether the domain controller is pinging from any other machine in the same network.
2.Check the LAN connectivity of the machine.
3.Check whether the correct username, password and domain name are selected in the login page.
